| Hi Sarah, |
| Whatever you’re picturing, MagDI™, the magnetic weight loss procedure, is gentler than that. |
| ✓ | One night in hospital |
| ✓ | Home the next day |
| ✓ | Usually back at work within a week |
| It’s a safe, gentle procedure with a fast recovery. |
| Here’s how it goes. |
The morning of your procedure
You swallow a small magnet with a glass of water. It makes its own way down, and you don’t feel a thing.
In theatre, about an hour
While you’re asleep, Dr Loy places a second magnet through a few tiny incisions. The two magnets find each other and hold on gently.
Over the next two to three weeks
Your body forms a new opening between them by itself. Nothing cut away, no staples at the join.
Once the opening has formed
The magnets leave naturally when you go to the toilet. A simple X-ray confirms they’ve gone.
From then on
Food takes a shorter route, and a smaller meal is enough.
